Graham challenged all you closet LARPers to put together a D&D costume out of stuff around the house. The winner was Jovesh! Congratulations!
Jovesh the looter is shown stealing the Jade Dragon Statue from the High Emperor. He protects himself with his Scale Armor of Invisibility, which he thought would make him invisible, but just made the armor invisible. Wielding his Longsword of Bluntness, which does Bludgeoning damage. The Hat of Detection, which displays an eye when he is detected. As well as his Ring of Luck (only bad luck) and Goggles of Farseeing (he is a little nearsighted) he has a menagerie of items which he has collected over the his adventuring career.

- I am the Cablemancer Ziploc Calphalon. Upon my chest I wear a Tunic of Brilliance +2 to take me through the darkest power shortages. In my right hand I carry Omnius, a semi-concious being capable of bringing several electopsychic minions to life.The other mystic cables upon my person do my bidding, reaching out to entangle and manipulate on this plane and lower ones.

- Hi! My name is Jill, and this is a photo of me and my animal companion setting off on a quest. I am a ranger, of course, as you can tell by my lack of schools. It’s the best I can do for my Move Silently skill until those elvish boots finally drop. I am wearing my backpack of holding which contains, among other things, my twin Great Axes. Why is it pink? Why not! Who said you can’t look cute while destroying the forces of evil? And my metal vial holds a potion of…milk. Even a ranger has to worry about nutrition after all. As for my animal companion…well I try to outfit the beast as best I can, but working with a creature with an intelligence score this low is challenging. And don’t even ask how much money I spent on that +5 Belt of Concealment. I don’t think I need to tell you why!

- Before you stands Myrgiol Marshmettle, an aged dwarven witch. Her beard may have faded from fiery red, to grim grey, to wintery white, but she is every bit as ready for adventure as the first day she left the tunnels of her home. She is wearing a heavy duty cloak for long travels. The pink sunhat helps keep the sun out of her sensitive eyes, and besides, who doesn’t love eye-searing pastel pink? Her sweats and slippers are for comfort; you try running all over the world in your late 230s! And lastly, the shirt is +5 to charisma, for excellent taste in sketch comedy merchandise.

- In the cold fog filled streets of Lindinway, The City of Passage, thunders the footfalls of a beast. It’s towering figure lifts massive feet over the cobblestone road, windows shake with every step. Standing at 13 feet 4 inches, stands a full blooded Ogre. Thick weathered fingers lift a wallet sized to him, a bright silver badge falls from it’s inner pocket.

- I am a wizard with a fox familiar; Robe of Energy for +2 lightning power, chainmail headdress for +3 defense, necklace of +2 perception (and fandom references), and a Flower of Photosynthesis which allows me to draw energy from the sun for +1 attack.

at the intersection of craft and war;
your skill too precious, too beautiful
to be taken out of our firmament,
cleansed of the holy pride you could once feel
weaving filament over filament
your strong nerves over nerve on naked steel,
To arrive across our lens, our focus,

something precious, clutched at, that passes

Moviebob will be joining us for a call-in interview on Wednesday, November 20th at 9pm PST.
Bob “MovieBob” Chipman is a film reviewer and the host of The Escapist features Escape to the Movies and the Big Picture. Bob has an unapologetic love of ‘80s and ‘early ‘90s video games and a hatred for bad movies with large fan-bases. MovieBob uses a review style that has been called “college-lit class style close reading”, which also incorporates overlaid imagery to support his points. He also has an admitted love of and weakness for TV Tropes.
In addition to his features for The Escapist, Bob also hosts The Adventures of Game OverThinker, a series that combines video game news and commentary with a comedic narrative. OverThinker follows a more story-driven analysis of gaming culture that blurs the lines between reality and video games, and led to the creation of a forth series, Overbytes, which focuses on culture and tropes.
Bob has also written a book titled “Super Mario Bros. 3: Brick-by-Brick”, in which he deconstructs the game in the form of a “novelized Let’s Play” while analyzing the cultural significance and history of the Mario Bros. franchise. Bob is also very active on his blog and on Twitter.
