During today’s Alpha Flight, we challenged the community to create artwork related to Andy’s Arstotzka crossing guard character. Here’s the winning submission, from Garfman:
Thanks to everyone that submitted their creations to this challenge! Here are some additional honorable mentions from our community.
We’ve just received word that our friends at Fangamer are now accepting pre-orders for a second run of Desert Bus for Hope 2020 T-Shirts. If you’ve been waiting because a particular size or style was sold out, check out the Fangamer store now! Hurry, because these shirts are only available during Desert Bus for Hope 2020.
We’re starting another Donation Drive, this time for a rather unique item… a custom crafted Leather Dice Tray, Journal, or Back Patch… your choice!
Matthew Webb is an accomplished leatherworker specializing in tooled leather items with a gothy or geeky motif. He has offered to do a custom leather item for the winner of this lot. The winner will have their choice of a custom leather bound journal, back patch, or dice tray! Matthew can incorporate iconography from Vampire: The Masquerade, Dungeons & Dragons, and Call of Cthulhu to create a unique item to the winners specifications.
Whether you need a journal to hide all of your dark secrets, a back patch to openly display your dark secrets, or a dice tray to randomly determine your dark secrets, this is the lot for you.
Donate $13.13 (or multiples thereof) for a chance to win this prize. We’ll run this Donation Drive until 5:30pm PST.

We here at Desert Bus for Hope would like to thank one of our prize sponsors for this year’s event: Roxley Game Laboratory.

Some board games you might have played recently that they’ve published include Dice Throne, Santorini, Brass: Lancashire, and Gorilla Marketing.
Thank you Roxley Game Laboratory for your support of this year’s Desert Bus for Hope!
This year, we’ve asked our community to share what Desert Bus for Hope and Child’s Play means to them, and what impact they’ve had on their lives. Here is a selection of these community submissions…
My childhood was spent too sick to leave my home but I always had TV and video games to help me get through the pain, fear, and loneliness. Being able to help children who have to deal with the same struggles but without the comfort of their own home is an honest joy <3 #DBtoMe

@DesertBus led me to a huge change in life and the best job I've ever had. As one of the Patient Techs that @CPCharity funded, I have been able to help kids Play Games and Feel Better. Because of amazing Child Life guest callers in previous DB runs, I found my passion. #DBTOME

Desert Bus is one of the things I most look forward to every year. I've been watching for 8 years now. DB has helped me through some of the hardest and busiest points in my life. There is so much kindness and joy to experience. Much love from me and Whaleiam Pladdington #dbtome pic.twitter.com/eqLypEAu3p

We have two special guests with us today on Alpha Flight… Andrew Cownden and Madeleine Suddaby! For the second day in a row, they’ll be joining us all shift.
Andy is a professional actor/writer/oddball and has been a Desert Bus regular since 2007. Please forward all complaints to @AndrewCownden on twitter.
Madeleine is a singer/dancer/actor/animal-crosser/makeup-artist from Vancouver, BC. Notable Desert Bus moments include singing the ever-loving bus out of Wicked, singing a duet from Anything Goes with Andy, and making Ben cry while singing Moana. It’s mostly singing. Check out “Madelaide” on YouTube and Instagram for her makeup antics!
If you’ve got a question or challenge for Andrew or Madeleine, you can submit those here on the Desert Bus website. Make sure you’re logged in to your donor account, then go to https://desertbus.org/participate/challenge.
