Harrison Krix, the man behind Volpin Props, has made your dreams come true, and you probably didn’t even realize it. Volpin Props is world famous for its nerdy Daft Punk Helmets, Planet Express from Futurama, Needler from Halo, and so much more—you name the nerdy activity, and there’s a chance Volpin Props has made something awesome from it. Harrison Krix has been creating since 2007, and he made it into his full time job in 2013.

Harrison has donated some incredible props to us in the past for auction, one might remember a certain volunteer and his Scissor Blade and this year is no different. Thank you very much for all your support, Volvin Props!

Fugi has decided to run an all-shift Art Challenge because, and I quote, “He likes to make the Blog Team’s lives as difficult as possible”.

But I am super excited for this challenge. Fugi’s favourite game is Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. He would like fan art of The Wind Waker, no specific theme, no specific references, no specific media. Ken “Value Added” Steacy will be visiting Desert Bus at 7pm PST on Tuesday, November 17th.

Known around Desert Bus as Ken “Value Added” Steacy thanks to his legacy of creating some of the most exciting live auctions we’ve seen, Ken decided at age eleven to become a professional comic book writer/artist, a dream he realized in 1974. Since then, he has chronicled the exploits of Spider-Man, Harry Potter, and the Star Wars gang, to name but a few. In addition to creating his own intellectual property, he has collaborated with Harlan Ellison, Dean Motter, and Douglas Coupland. The recipient of an Eisner and an Inkpot award, Ken was inducted into the Joe Shuster Awards Hall of Fame in 2009, a lifetime achievement award honouring Canadian comic book creators for their contributions to the industry. Alongside his wonderful wife, graphic novelist Joan Steacy, Ken is currently teaching Comics & Graphic Novels in a program they created at Camosun College here in Victoria.

Steven Dengler is a well-known entrepreneur, investor, and geek. He co-founded XE in 1993, and currently serves as its CEO. He acquired the title Honorary King of Desert Bus during DB6.

Steven is also the founder and CEO of Dracogen Inc., which has provided financing to a number of promising gaming, high-tech, and creative ventures. He is also co-founder Wifarer Inc. and the MegaCynics webcomic. Through Dracogen, he has provided financing to a number of influential gaming titles such as Psychonauts, Costume Quest, Stacking, Middle Manager of Justice, DropChord, Project Eternity, Wasteland 2, Torment Tides of Numenera, and Defense Grid 2, and many others.

Steven has supported a wide range of New Media projects, serving as Executive Producer for a number of such productions including The Jeff Lewis Five Minute Comedy Hour, Fallout: Nuka Break, Research, The Silent City, Save the Supers, and My Gimpy Life, and Star Trek Continues. Steven appears in the Veronica Mars Movie, My Gimpy Life, Nuka Break Seasons 1 and 2, and more. He also plays Security Chief Drake in the popular webseries Star Trek Continues.
