fooWe at Desert Bus would like to extend a thank you to Foo in downtown Victoria. Foo showed us a great amount of support this year, specifically during the set up of the run. Foo offered free lunches for many of the volunteers and crew members while we set up the Lunar Module Mk.2.

Foo FOOD serves up a wide range of asian inspired dishes. Drawing on influences from throughout Asia, Foo is tribute to the Asian street food culture. Situated at the corner of Yates and Blanshard, Foo combines a “hawker stall” feel with a modern and personal atmosphere.

We thank Foo for their great support of our hunger!

I'm sure the Nevada landscape is actually much more thrilling than this.

I’m sure the Nevada landscape is actually much more thrilling than this.

We’ve seen Magic: The Gathering cards before for Desert Bus, but this year, we’re challenging the community to come up with their best Magic: The Gathering card for the Nevada desert, the picturesque landscape featured in (at least part) of Desert Bus. (Or it could be all of Desert Bus; we really can’t tell the difference.)

As for the winner? They’ll receive an Official Desert Bus 9 T-Shirt!

Send your submission to contests@desertbus.org with “Nevada desert” in the subject line. You’ve got until 6:22 AM PST to submit your entry. Also, be sure to include the name or handle you’d like to go by on air should your submission win.

Mana cost: Zero
Type: Artifact
Craft Text: Tap, Donate X amount to Desert Bus: Add three mana of any one color to your mana pool and X amount to Child’s Play.

You’ve never had a Black Lotus but always wanted one. Or maybe you’re one of the few lucky enough to own one, but want to add another to your collection. Or maybe you’re an avid MTGO player and bemoan the fact that the artwork on the Vintage Masters Black Lotus never went to real-world print. Whichever the case, you’ll be able to appreciate this beautiful piece on your wall. The cross stitch contains 40 colors and over 4000 stitches, each done by hand.

This piece was created using DMC Embroidery Floss (40 colors!), Aida 11-count cross-stitch fabric, an acid-free cream-coloured matte board and an 8×10 frame. Zero Mana were used in the creation of this item.

One day, robots may rise and conquer the world. And just like us, they’ll probably want to kick back every now and then and play a video game. Hopefully one more interesting than Desert Bus, but we’ll see.

DancingRobot

Or dance. That’s a popular option for robotic characters too.

Robots are a common theme on Alex’s tumblr, so we’re challenging the community to create their best gamer robot. The winner will receive this lot of Xbox One items.
