Matt has issued an art challenge to the chat.His overnight shift is taking it out of him, so he has started thinking about what he will do once he gets to escape The Chair. This spectacular cross-stitch piece depicts Kefka from Final Fantasy VI as he appears in the game’s final battle. The pattern for this piece was created using screenshots from the game. It was kindly donated to us by Diane Hamilton Siefker.

Welcome to Zeta, friends! It is time to start a new creative challenge that will be running ALL WEEK! Beej wanted to showcase all of the excellent musicians that we have in our community, so he put out the call this year for a new Zeta theme song, one that he can play during his driver shift on Wednesday night. He has challenged the community to create an original song that encapsulates the feel of Zeta shift. It’s not about Beej, it is about the total absurdity that makes really makes Zeta what we all know and love.
A few quick guidelines to help y’all make the best entry possible-
- Each entry should be uploaded as a public video to Youtube, and you’ll need to send the link over to contests@desertbus.org with the subject line “Zeta Song Contest”. Please let us know in your email what name you would like us to announce on air should we show your submission
- Please keep the songs to 90 seconds or less
- We want to see your original compositions created during the challenge that showcase your talent! Samples are awesome! Covers are not!
- All entries must be in for judging by 8pm PST on Wednesday so it can be played for Beej’s shift!

During Andrew and Ashton’s shift, we challenged the community to create poetry, prose, or drawings inspired by their favorite Desert Bus for Hope memories.
