Our High Priest of Pele, Jer, has decreed that this beautiful Temple of the Lava Bears Shadow Box will be a Donation Drive. We’re going to run this drive until 10:05 PM PST and any donations of $10.05 or multiples thereof will get you entries into the drive.

This piece, donated by crafter Schala-Kitty, is breathtaking to behold in person and it’s onscreen time does not do it justice. A bit more detailed info is listed below:

This design features many of the colorful cast of characters from Temple of the Lava Bears with the player party at the forefront in the main ring. Meanwhile, the Goddess Pele stands front and center, made of specialty pearl and glitter cardstock for that angry, divine glow. A variety of monsters including the titular lava bear round out the interior circle, while the outer corners feature a mix of iconic NPCs. The frame itself is decorated with vinyl decals in the style of the woodblock prints seen in the series, with the top featuring the complete hymn to Pele.

In addition to the shadow box, this lot also includes several bonuses inside a special Pig Sweetner box. The lava bee suncatcher is truly stunning, made of over 50 pieces of vibrant vellum including shimmering golden wings. And to customize your car or computer, you’ll also receive a “Treecano” symbol vinyl decal and a Desert Bus vinyl decal to show your support for this awesome charity event.

The piece is made from cardstock (including pearl and glitter varieties), archival quality adhesives and foam tape. The frame uses glass, wood, nails, paint, chipboard and vinyl decals.

We have Jer’s first art challenge of his shift! Pictured to the left here is Alpha Flight, the Canadian Superhero team for Marvel Comics. In stark contrast to how often Canada is depicted as morally ambiguous in the Marvel ‘verse, Alpha Flight has been a force for good for the Great White North.
