Some artists labor for years, building their skills, finding their truth, and then translating their deepest thoughts and feelings into their chosen medium. Psht. Amateurs. We goof off for a single week and we create art of equal, if not surpassing, value.

Observe the undeniable proof, as presented by the Winner and Runners-Up of the Night Watch Art Challenge! Try not to weep at their collective beauty. We know it's difficult.

Winner:

The original art piece is "Judith Beheading Holofernes" by Artemisia Gentileschi, oil on canvas 1620 (featuring a slight censor edit to make it bus safe). I have paired it against "BeyBlade Rip Off"I think the intense energy and stances are well matched! And puns always intended. Embrace the blade! And if you love something, let it rip. Runners Up

Here is a photo of Ian expressing the same joy and jubilation as Salvador Dali's "Man with Porron" after finding some "free candy" at the Moon Base. -thecwis

While introducing The Orb, Ian stares into its face in a fashion reminiscent of M.C. Escher's Hand with Reflecting Sphere, also known as Self-Portrait in Spherical Mirror. Note the placement of the fingers, particularly the thumb and pinky, mimicking Escher's own hand in the original work. While The Orb is not literally reflective, as the eye of the orb stares into Ian's own, one can't help but feel it is reflective of the self nonetheless. -batfax

Here, Graham mirrors the statue of The Falling Gaul, assumed to be created by Attalos I in 200 B.C. Much like the statue depicts a falling gladiator futilely defending himself against an attacking soldier, Graham futilely tries to defend himself from the pull of gravity. -RedRaptor

Brett and Wizard Rod cross the Alps (aka the Matt "Cat Enthusiast" Memorial Stadium) as the Beyblade Master Napoleon did before him! -Chloe

Here is 'Self-Portrait with Death Playing the Fiddle' by Arnold Böcklin alongside two photos (of Dan and Max from last night) by Kolin merged together. It's a bit unorthodox but man does it work! -Master_Treebeard
